This means that the information
found on the BIOS are invalid or
cannot be accessed.
Solution
Proposed solutions:
- Flashing the BIOS

Replacing the battery of your
motherboard (CMOS battery)

- Contact the manufacturer if
problem persist.

Replacing the battery of your motherboard (CMOS battery)

Symptoms
If your computer is showing the
following symptoms:
Error with date and time options.
You are prompted with the
following error messages:
- bios cmos checksum error
defaults loaded
- bios cmos battery low cmos
- wrong memory size
- no operating system
- CPU overclocking failed
New CPU has been installed and
more..
These problems may be due to
the fact that your CSMOS battery
is depleted and itâ €(TM)s about
time to replace it.
Replacement sequence
It is recommended that you
change the CSMOS battery every
5 years.
Saving the BIOS data
Open all the BIOS screen and
note all the information on a
piece of paper. It's important
that you don't make any
modifications. Once completed

are correctly inserted after
replacing the battery.
Identify the CMOS battery
The CMOS battery is some kind of
round shape button, thin in

How to locate it:
- Turn off your PC

should be visible.
- Remove the battery, but avoid

with other parts of your
motherboard (refer to the

motherboard).

a battery of the same model or
something equivalent.
Installing the new battery
Be sure that the battery is place
correctly (firmly) in the slot
allocated (positive side visible,
depending on the model of your
motherboard).
Verify the BIOS data and
resetting the clock
Once the operation complete, it is
important to configure the BIOS
settings.
- Start your PC.
- Enter the BIOS.
- Modify the Date.
- Verify if the parameters are the
same as the one noted in step
1(perform any modifications
needed)
- Save and quit BIOS.

Output System
The BIOS is a set of instructions
contained on a volatile memory
chip built onto your
motherboard. When a PC is
turned on, the BIOS program is
initiated. It performs a hardware
check ensuring that all crucial
hardware properly (video card, a
CPU, memory) are present and
are working, if the power supply
providing proper voltages. If
any problem is detected it will
inform you via beep codes. A

Having the following message at
startup means that there is a
problem with your floppy drive.
To handle this problem try the
following:
- Check in the device manager that
there is no yellow exclamation
point near the floppy drive, if so
reinstall the driver.
- Go into the BIOS and check if
your floppy drive is set as
primary boot device, if so
change it (set the Hard Disk as
primary boot device).
- Go into the BIOS and set your
floppy drive A as Disabled or Not
Installed, save with the F10 key
and restart your PC.
- Make sure the floppy drive is
connected.
If this persists disconnect
(permanently) the floppy drive
from the PC.
